TEANECK, NJ - MAY 30, 2009
David Nachman and David Sindell are proud to announce the opening of Yakitori39 at 252 DeGraw Avenue, in Teaneck, NJ.
Yakitori, grilled chicken, is a Japanese type of skewered chicken. It is made from several bite-sized pieces of chicken meat, or chicken offal, skewered on a bamboo skewer and barbecued, over charcoal.
Diners ordering yakitori will be offered a choice of having it served with salt or with tare sauce. Tare sauce is traditionally made up of mirin, sake, soy sauce and sugar. In keeping with flair, our tare sauce will also have a hint of bordelaise wine. The sauce is applied to the skewered meat and is grilled until delicately cooked and then served with the tare sauce as a dip.
Yakitori39 will only use the freshest free range chicken. And as usual, our inventive chef, Yoshikatsu Yamashita, will add a special yakitori twist, using duck breast and lamb chops. In addition to Yakitori, we will offer a wide array of appetizers including cold tofu dishes, Japanese style salads, deep fried Japanese chicken wings (tebasaki), as well as some of Chef Yamashita's famous French desserts.
On the drink side, Yakitori39 will feature a premium sake and shochu list plus a balanced and complementary assortment of wines.
So, why 39? In Japanese, 39 is pronounced "san kyu", which is the way Japanese say "thank you", and we would like to thank you, the customer, for trying our new and innovative Japanese cuisine.
The chicken we use is free range and tastes delicious. In a couple of weeks, we will be offering ALL YOU CAN EAT Yakitori and miso soup for $23.90 per person on Sundays. We will update you when we start that promotion.
YAKITORI39 (san kyu) is OPEN TUESDAY through SUNDAY for Dinner, 252 DeGraw Avenue, in Teaneck, NJ Tel: (201) 692-0700 or check us out on the web at www.yakitori39.com.
